My friends and ex-school-mates at Mills College, Antoine Berthiaume and MaryClare Brzytwa, recently released an an album on Ambiances Magnétiques.

I helped out as engineer on some of the tracks. It is a very interesting record of effected guitar, processed flute, and additional. Both Antonine and MaryClare are well versed at both their instruments, and in electronic textures. My sections of the record were recorded at Asphodel Studios, in San Francisco; and we did some pretty nice sounding re-amplification of the electronic sounds live, giving the sound a lot of air. The Neve and other analog gear also helped out a lot in this respect of “warming up” the sound.

The record was mixed by Norman Teale, and mastered by Myles Boysen, both from the Bay Area.

If you like electronic ambiance, I urge you to pick this one up.
