LISTEN/VISION is a unique series exploring the art of perception. It is a place and time for a shared experience of sound and light and space. Overlap.org has commissioned new and *unreleased* sound and video recordings from an international pool of acclaimed contemporary artists. LISTEN began as an Overlap event founded by Christopher Willits in 2005. After two successful years of audio only compositions the series began to incorporate audio-visual pieces thus becoming LISTEN/VISION.

RODDY SCHROCK–”DUOTONE” – 16:16 – is a New York City based sound artist. A mercurial presence in the new music scene, his live performances, music and installations have been presented in Japan, Europe and North America. His music juxtaposes playful sonic surfaces and formalism, rooted in frivolity.

JORGE BACHMAN – Multi-disciplinary, mixed-media and sound artist. Since the early eighties, he has been exploring the strange, unique and microcosmic sounds of everyday life, collecting field recordings. The sound atmospheres created are meant for deep listening and are composed in symbiosis with the sculptural installations. He creates equally sensual and detailed oriented photo-based work. His art explores social and sensual constructs and experiences.

WILLITS + SAKAMOTO – Sakamoto is a living legend in music. His numerous releases in YMO, and his grammy award-willing solo work has inspired two generations of fans and artists. Christopher Willits is an incredibly multi-talented artist who has shown he can do just about anything. In the late-nineties Willits began integrating his guitar playing with unique custom digital processing, and has since become instrumental in redefining the guitar in the digital age. Overlapping all forms of music, sound, and visual art, Willits’ work defies genre distinctions while retaining a presence unto it’s own.
