It’s a big start to 2009 with a mix from Australia’s own Thesis. He has recently returned to Melbourne from Holland and we finally met at the Seven/Gravious show on the weekend. It was great to put a face to all the emails over the last couple of years.
I’m really stoked to have Thesis’ mix to kick off the Symbiosis podcast on Overlap again. There is lots more planned over the coming months - make sure you subscribe to the podcast and check back regularly. There will also be some ambient/experimental content coming back to mix things up.
Thesis (real name Theo Howard), is a music producer from Melbourne Australia. He has been writing electronic music of various styles and under various monikers over the past decade. His unique style of deep percussive beats fall into the dubstep genre, but always with a twist, a crossbreed of tribal dubstep and samba.
In 2007, Thesis joined the Antilounge Records crew (the Hague) with a track on the Antilounge 5 CD. In 2008, this release was distributed with Kanaal0, a Dutch electronic music/art magazine. Due for international release in 2009, from the Australian label Sub Continental Dub - the ‘Vol1′ CD will feature two Thesis tracks. Thesis is also associated with the Echodub collective (UK), and Steim (NL)
I hope you enjoy the mix.. leave comments and share the link around!
